privacy policy

last updated 23 july 2026.

the short version

verifier.org is a content site. you can read every page without an account, and we don't ask you to sign up, log in, or hand over personal details to use it. we don't sell personal data, and we never handle your passwords or payment details — any of that happens on a vendor's own site if you click through.

what we collect

analytics: we use privacy-conscious analytics to understand which rankings are read and how the site performs. this is aggregate traffic data — pages viewed, rough referrer, approximate region, device type — not a profile with your name on it.

server logs: like any website, our host records standard request logs (ip address, timestamp, user agent) for security and reliability. these are retained only as long as needed for those purposes.

voting: some pages let you mark a review helpful or not. that records a vote, not who you are — we don't attach it to an identity.

cookies, advertising & affiliate links

we show advertising and use affiliate links on some outbound vendor links, which means a third-party ad or affiliate network may set cookies in your browser to measure clicks and, in the case of ads, to select what you see.

those third parties operate under their own privacy policies, which we don't control. you can limit this with your browser's cookie controls, a tracker-blocking extension, or the ad-choices tools those networks provide.

affiliate links never change a ranking, a score, or a line of a review — that's covered in the site's methodology and terms.

what we don't do

we don't run user accounts, so we hold no usernames or passwords. we don't ask you to enter payment details on this site. we don't sell or rent personal information. we don't build advertising profiles ourselves — where profiling happens, it's the third-party ad network, and you can opt out of it as above.

your choices

you can browse with cookies disabled or a blocker enabled and the site still works. you can use your browser's do-not-track and cookie settings, and the opt-out tools published by the ad networks. if you'd like us to look into any data associated with your visits, email us and we'll help as far as the aggregate nature of our data allows.

children

this is a site about developer and business software and is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.

changes

if this policy changes we'll update the date at the top of the page. material changes will be obvious rather than buried.
